The Real State of the Commonwealth

The Real State of the Commonwealth is a State of Climate Emergency

Massachusetts should be a leading state in addressing climate change and yet it has continued to support fossil fuel infrastructure — e.g., the Weymouth compressor station — and has a poor track record with regard to environmental justice. The State of the Commonwealth will be held at the Massachusetts State House on Tuesday, January 21. The program begins at 6 o’clock; Baker’s speech will start at 7. Extinction Rebellion and Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station will protest on steps in front of State House (or as close as we can get). We will be joined by our own Charlie Baker. 😁 Please bring pots and pans to bang on and other noisemakers! We will have art reflecting the true State of the Commonwealth, and will be leafleting our message and promoting the next Heading for Extinction talk along the sidewalk. Perhaps a polar bear will join us. Risk of arrest: low.
