Queer Voices in the Climate Movement: How queer people are affected by the climate crisis and poised to combat it.

Wednesday, Jun 16

Wednesday, June 16th at 7:00 PM

Join us for an online presentation and discussion about queer representation and action in the climate movement. This event is co-hosted by Earth Day Boston (https://www.earthdayboston.org/)

Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82373394096?pwd=OWhSSEp5NHE5Q2hhcVQyWi85WkFwQT09

We'll be having a conversation about:

  • Recent climate science: What it the reality of our current projections? How does this affect the queer community?
  • Climate action: What can we do about it? How do our personal choices and our activism make a difference? What is non-violent direct action (NVDA)?
  • Climate, Racial, and Social Justice: What is Climate Justice and how does it relate to racial and social justice? How can we support the intersectionalities of climate justice?
  • LGBTQ representation in social movements: How has the queer community had to come together to effect change in the past? What uniqueness does the queer community bring to the activism space?

This event will be a queer-focused discussion on the climate crisis and climate activism, but is open to everyone. Please invite any queer or non-queer friends you think may be interested. :)
