Heading for Extinction (And What To Do About It) - hosted by Emergency Everywhere Arlington

Wednesday, Dec 16

Our Planet Is In Crisis. We are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction, and global heating is quickly getting out of control.

Emergency Arlington is part of XR Boston's Emergency Everywhere initiative. We are urging the town of Arlington to declare a climate emergency.

To support this goal, Emergency Arlington would like to invite you to hear the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate change and ecological breakdown, and explain why disruptive direct action is our best hope to avert catastrophe. Whether you're on the fence about direct action, or just want to learn more about the climate and ecological crisis and Extinction Rebellion, this talk is the perfect event for you! We especially would like to urge Arlington residents to attend.

Register Here. Please note, this presentation will be recorded.

The talk will be given by John Burkhardt, an Arlington resident and one of the early members of Extinction Rebellion Boston. After the talk (around 8pm) we will have an open discussion, including an opportunity to learn more about Emergency Arlington and their efforts to get a Declaration of Climate Emergency passed at Arlington Town Meeting in 2021.
