CANCELLED - To be rescheduled in the future

Extinction Rebellion is a movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience, which means that some rebels may risk arrest in our actions. Our arrestee support team is there to support these rebels before, during, and after arrest. Arrestee support is crucial for making actions successful and cultivating a regenerative approach to civil disobedience.

Come learn how to do arrestee support and meet others who are filling these important roles in our movement! We will provide training in arrestee support and regenerative culture, and look towards organizing a team for future Extinction Rebellion actions.

Time: Wednesday April 1, 7-9:30pm. Subject to change as we confirm the space, so please check back here.

Location: Democracy Center in Harvard Square, Cambridge

FAQ

Can I join the arrestee support team if I do not want to risk arrest through civil disobedience? Arrestee support is considered a low-risk role: members of the arrestee support team avoid being arrested themselves, and a lot of the work we do happens before and after the action itself.

I've never been involved in a civil disobedience action. Is this event for me? You are most welcome! Arrestee support is a great way to learn about non-violent civil disobedience in a low-risk role. At this event, we will provide training how to do arrestee support and if you are interested you can join the arrestee support team. You can also attend our next non-violent direct action training to get broad overview of civil disobedience and practice some relevant skills.
