Act for Amazonia - Global Day of Action

Thursday, Sep 05

Last week, we rallied in front of the Brazilian Consulate to call on Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro to respect Indigenous Sovereignty, and prevent the burning and deforestation in the Amazon. This week, please join us for a demonstration starting in front of Blackrock, the worlds largest fund manager with $6.5 TRILLION of assets, which was recently named the #1 global investor in deforestation (https://amazonwatch.org/assets/files/2019-blackrocks-big-deforestation-problem.pdf). Blackrock continues to put short-term profits over the lives of indigenous communities, our children, and the future of our planet. But they are not the only financial institute that is failing us: JP Morgan Chase, Santander, BNP, and more profit off of the destruction of Indigenous lands - and they all have offices in the Financial District in Boston.

Join us to raise awareness on the ecocide going on in Brazil, and call on our Financial Institutions to respect indigenous sovereignty, protect our ecosystems, and build a just & sustainable future by divesting from destructive industries such as palm oil production, factory farming, mining, fossil fuels, and more.
