Newburyport Emergency Everywhere Kickoff

XR is kicking off our new Newburyport Emergency Everywhere campaign!

The city of Newburyport has taken the proactive step to develop a climate resiliency plan. A committee has identified seven priority actions including a plan for enhancing the resilience of the Waste Water Treatment Facility located on the Merrimack River. The city has not taken the important substantive steps to finalize the action plan and begin immediate implementation.

We need to create pressure and show the mayor and city council that this is an urgent issue that cannot be delayed.

Newburyport will be one of ~7 cities/towns in Massachusetts where we are planning direct actions in the Emergency Everywhere campaign. Each city will follow a sequence of actions that escalate if our demands are not met.

Come learn more about the Newburyport campaign and plug in to helping us organize it. We need your help in: planning actions, establishing local partnerships, building art, holding support roles during actions, etc.
